Due to the complexity of the scientific problems and trend of amalgamation among the traditional basic disciplines,a large number of interdisciplinary disciplines have emerged in recent years.Grasping the development orientation of interdisciplinary disciplines and assessing the impact of interdisciplinary disciplines on other disciplines is of great significance for scientific and technological policy formulation,allocation of educational and scientific and technological resources,and the overall layout of national scientific and technological development.In the process of knowledge fusion and technology convergence among different scientific fields,new interdisciplinary topics are constantly emerging.How to identify the emerging interdisciplinary topics in specific disciplines and explore the law of citation diffusion is essential for understanding the internal structure,development trend and the impact on other fields of some specific disciplines.This study creatively constructed a weighted interdisciplinary measurement method,which concerned three factors-interdisciplinarity of different chapters,importance degree of reference and multiple citations of each reference.On the basis of identified high-level interdisciplinary literatures,this study further integrates interdisciplinary features and emerging features to construct the emerging interdisciplinary topics recognition method.Additionally,an empirical analysis of computational biology is also conducted.The study contains the following three sections.Firstly,in view of the deficiency of the existing interdisciplinary measurements,this study proposed a weighted interdisciplinary measurement method which combines the factors of chapter interdisciplinarity,reference importance and multiple citations.The entropy method was applied here to calculate the weights of references in different chapters.From the perspectives of previous interdisciplinary measurement based on all references and the weighted interdisciplinary measurement proposed in this study,the interdisciplinary literatures in computational biology are identified.Secondly,the subject words of the identified high interdisciplinary literatures are extracted and cleaned,and the co-occurrence matrix of subject words is further constructed.Based on the correlation intensity the theme visual clustering analysis is carried out,and the emerging interdisciplinary topics recognition model is further constructed.The emerging interdisciplinary topics in the field of computational biology are identified with the application of this model.Thirdly,the citation diffusion impacts of emerging interdisciplinary topics in computational biology are explored from discipline and time two aspects.The results show that: the interdisciplinary measurement from the perspectives of previous measurement based on all references and the weighted measurement proposed in this study can effectively identify the documents with high interdisciplinarity in core chapters.Finally,a total of 13 emerging interdisciplinary topics have been identified in the field of computational biology,which are mainly related to gene structure function relationship,macromolecular structure and function,heredity and evolution,biological immune response,disease pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment and so on.From the discipline distribution characteristics of citation diffusion,the citations of these emerging interdisciplinary topics are widely spread,which involving a large number of disciplines,but the distribution is uneven,mainly concentrated in eight disciplines,such as Genetics & Heredity,Biochemistry & Molecular Biology,Microbiology,etc.However,according to the different characteristics of its specific research content,each topic has its own citation advantages in specific subjects.From the perspective of time,the diffusion fields of emerging interdisciplinary topics show a gradual increasing trend,the scope and degree of citation diffusion are gradually deepened.However,the impact of different emerging interdisciplinary topics on the same discipline is different.the same emerging interdisciplinary topic also has different impact on different disciplines.In this study,the method of identifying high interdisciplinary literatures from the two perspectives of previous measurement based on all references and the weighted measurement makes up for the makes deficiency of previous measurement,which cannot comprehensively consider the interdisciplinarity of different chapters,the importance of references and multiple citations of each reference.It provides a new perspective and idea for the identification of interdisciplinary literatures.Additionally,by synthesizing the characteristics of interdisciplinarity and emergence,the emerging interdisciplinary topics recognition model was established to identify emerging interdisciplinary topics,which enriches the theory of emerging interdisciplinary topics recognition and helps to improve the research system of topic recognition.by synthesizing the two characteristics of interdisciplinarity and emergence,the emerging provide a reference and basis for the discipline's development and its impact on other disciplines.
