Technology diffusion is a process of new technology spread,propagated and applied among potential users or inventor,is the core areas of making the technology to produce and played an important role in heritage and innovation.Researching on technology diffusion way,path and speed can help organizations grasp the diffusion discipline of technology,quickly select and absorp relevant technologies to enhance the organization's ability to technological innovation,but also contribute the relevant government departments to issue the appropriate technology policies promote technology transfer and innovation.Patent is the most direct expression form of technical knowledge.Many scholars'research results show that mutual citation of patent accompanied by spillover and diffusion of technical knowledge.The changes of patent reference can more objectively reflect technological diffusion.In this paper,based on patent citation network we defined the meaning of technology diffiision,analysed the facters effecting technical diffusion rate and proposed a way to measure technology diffusion speed using multi Index.This method can quantify the rate of technology diffusion and reflect its evolution,help us to understand the current situation and the law of technology diffusion,expand the depth of technology diffusion speed-related research and provide a theoretical basis for enhancing the rate of technology diffusion.First of all,on the basis of relevant theories based on technology diffusion theory and patent citation network analysis,we defined the connotations of technology diffusion speed based on patent citation network.Secondly,according to technology diffusion manifestations in patent citation network,we proposed technology diffusion speed measurement methods from two angles of overall and individual,using the average reference delay,the number of cross-cutting,network clustering coefficient and betweenness centrality as measure indicators.Third,this paper did empirical research using the data of 2000--2012 of China authorized in U.S.patent databases(USPTO)electronic data processing(G06F)patents,printed circuit(H05K)patents and semiconductor(H01L).In order to make the results more credible,this paper did anther empirical research using the data of 2000-2012 of Taiwan,Korea,the United Kingdom and Canadaauthorized in U.S.patent databases(USPTO)electronic data processing(G06F)patents.By calculating the parameters of each network topology,we analyzed the overall and individual characteristics of the network as well as the three major areas of China with the other four countries and areas,and calculated and comparative analysed their technology diffusion speed.Finally,we also compared the rate of diffusion empirical measurement methods using the data obtained before,demonstrating the feasibility and applicability of this method.
