With the rapid development of China economy, the economic gap between urban and rural areas has been reduced to a certain extent, but the economic gap between rural areas is still very large. At present,China has entered the stage of rural revitalization, but a large rural economic gap will not be conducive to rural revitalization and common prosperity. Therefore,it is particularly important to explore the internal mechanism of narrowing the rural economic gap.Economic Convergence Provides a new research perspective to narrow rural economic gap.Urbanization is an important booster of economic growth, however,it remains to be seen whether urbanization can promote the reduction of rural economic disparities. In view of this, based on the spatial econometric model, this paper uses software such as Arc GIS and Stata to perform spatial Durbin regression on panel data of China 30 provinces except Tibet from 1997 to 2017 to analyze the impact of urbanization on the convergence of China rural economy. The research results show that:(1)There is no absolute ? convergence in the economic growth of rural areas in China, but with significant conditional ?convergence;(2)The level of urbanization development can promote rural economic convergence, and ignoring spatial correlation will overestimate the impact of urbanization on rural economic convergence;(3)There is a significant spatial spillover effect in the development of rural economy, under its influence, the speed of economic convergence will be faster, which will help reduce the economic gap between rural areas;(4)In the analysis of control variables, both the level of rural agricultural modernization and the accumulation of rural physical capital can promote economic growth in rural areas, and both have significant spatial spillover effects.Rural human capital investment has a significant promotion effect on the rural economy.Ignoring the spatial correlation will overestimate the impact of rural human capital on the rural economy. And human capital has the largest promotion effect onrural economic growth. Therefore,in order to reduce the economic gap in rural areas, actively promote rural revitalization and achieve common prosperity,we should actively promote high-quality development of urbanization and strengthen interregional connections and infrastructure construction, then play to the role of spatial spillover effect on driving economic growth. At the same time,we should vigorously promote agricultural modernization and increase funding for agricultural mechanization and agricultural scientific and technological innovation. In addition,it is necessary to increase investment in rural human capital and physical capital through financial subsidies and other means, and to play a role of capital in promoting economic growth.
