With China's manufacturing industry being in the key period of transformation and upgrading,the innovation drive proposed by the state becomes a strategic guide for building a modern economy and forging a powerful country known for its manufacturing and creativity.The priority of future manufacturing development is innovation and upgrading,and the definite trend of industry development is integration.So,it's of great practical significance to explore the ways for integrating industry and improving the efficiency of manufacturing innovation.In view of this,this paper attempts to explore the heterogeneous mechanism of information industry and manufacturing integration in terms of region and industry.With the purpose to explore how industrial integration exerts its effects in different regions and industries,this paper makes empirical analysis by modeling to verify the regional and industrial heterogeneity effects of industrial integration on manufacturing innovation efficiency.Firstly,basing on the analysis and summary of domestic and foreign research results,this paper investigates the basic influence and the influence mechanism of industrial integration on manufacturing innovation.Next,this paper measures the integration level of manufacturing and information industry in 29 provinces and cities as well as the integration level of 26 sub-sectors and information industry nationwide by using the coupling evaluation model.It also calculates the corresponding efficiency of manufacturing innovation by using stochastic frontier analysis.At last,taking regional industries and 26 manufacturing sub-sectors nationwide as research objects,this paper constructs a regional panel regression model and an industry panel regression model basing on the data from 2005 to 2016,aiming to empirically testify the regional and industrial heterogeneity effects of industrial integration.Through research,the following conclusions are drawn: Firstly,the integration level of China's manufacturing and information industry and the innovation efficiency of manufacturing industry showed an upward trend during the research period.Meanwhile,obvious regional difference and industrial difference were observed.The empirical test shows that the industrial integration has a significant positive impact on the innovation efficiency of the manufacturing industry in terms of region and industry,indicating the improvement of the industrialintegration level does enhance the efficiency of manufacturing innovation.Secondly,there is regional difference in the enhancing effect of industrial integration on manufacturing innovation efficiency.Different from the positive and continuous enhancing effect in eastern and middle region,the enhancing effect show an upside-down “ U ” shape in western region.The research in terms of industry confirms that the integration and innovation effect of labor-intensive industry,capital-intensive industry and information industry presents an upside-down “U”shape,which improves at first and goes down at last.However,integration of technology-intensive industry can steadily increase the innovation efficiency.Basing on these research results,relevant policy recommendations are proposed.
