As an important industry that concerns people’s livelihood and reflects consumers’ consumption concept and level,the healthy development of retail industry is closely related to the national economy and people’s living standard.Since the reform and opening up,the retail industry has maintained the pace of rapid development.However,recently,the retail industry is facing challenges that offline retail stores have been hit,and online retail sales are slowing down.Retail enterprises need to introduce the concept of modern supply chain management to enhance customer satisfaction,improve operational efficiency and reduce operating costs.S&OP,as a methodology of balancing supply chain demand and supply,is recognized and applied by more and more retail enterprises.In this paper,MT online supermarket is taken as an example.Firstly,China’s retail industry with the upgrade of consumption and technological change is entering a new era of retail.Chapter 2 reviews the relevant theories of retail and supply chain management.And then,this paper expounds the status quo of MT online supermarket supply chain planning and a series of problems encountered,such as misunderstanding of S&OP,inaccurate demand forecasting,demand forecasting and product mismatch,shortage of personnel engaged in supply chain planning.In view of the aforementioned problems,the optimization measures should be taken to unify the knowledge of S&OP,strengthen the accurate method of demand forecasting,make use of information technology to support efficient S&OP in line with business development,and rationally allocate supply chain planners.
