Study On The Influence Of OFDI On Industrial Structure Upgrading In Eastern China

With the progress of economic globalization,especially since China's accession to the WTO,OFDI has become one of the important ways for China to participate in international economic activities.As the first region to implement the reform and opening up policy and with a high level of economic development in China,the eastern region has always been the main force of China's OFDI.Especially in recent years,both the stock and the flow of OFDI in eastern China have increased rapidly.According to OFDI theory and advanced practice in developed countries,OFDI influences local industrial structure upgrading by reallocating resources.At present,eastern China is in a critical period of industrial structure transformation and upgrading.How to use OFDI to promote industrial structure upgrading is one of the urgent problems in eastern China.In China's economic regions,the eastern region plays a very important role as a model.Therefore,the study on the correlation between OFDI and industrial structure upgrading in the eastern region is not only of great significance to the eastern region,but also can provide valuable experience for industrial structure upgrading in other economic regions of the country.This paper takes the OFDI and industrial structure in eastern China as the research object.Starting from the background of the topic selection and the significance of the research,this paper summarizes and reviews domestic and foreign research literature and relevant theories,and expounds the influence mechanism of OFDI on industrial structure upgrading from the perspective of enterprises and industry respectively.Secondly,after the introduction of the development history and current characteristics of OFDI in eastern China,the development history of the industrial structure in eastern China and the current status of the internal structure of each industry are systematically analyzed.It is found that the adjustment of OFDI structure in eastern China promotes the upgrading of industrial structure.Then,based on the time series data from 2003 to 2018,this paper makes an empirical analysis of eastern China by referring to the modified Chenery "standard structure" model and adding variable indicators.The research results show that OFDI in eastern China promotes the upgrading of industrial structure.In other words,the industrial structure upgrading index will increase by 0.019 percentage points for every 1 percentage point increase of non-financial OFDI stock in the GDP of the eastern China.On this basis,this paper further carried out panel regression analysis on ten provinces and cities in the eastern region.The results show that all provinces and cities in the eastern region have a positive promotion effect on the upgrading of local industrial structure,but the promotion effect of different provinces and cities is significantly different.Finally,this paper summarizes the research conclusions and puts forward the corresponding policy enlightenment.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in the systematic exploration of the effect of OFDI on industrial structure upgrading in eastern China on the basis of previous studies.It includes both regional research and provincial differentiation comparison,which comprehensively and objectively reflects the effect of OFDI on industrial structure upgrading in eastern China.
