With the development of urbanization, the traditional household registration system and welfare housing system collapsed, and the market-oriented commercial housing system began to emerge.Under the background of system re form and market transformation, urban spatial structure of city began changing, experiencing the outward expansion and internal restructuring process. The traditional balance of occupation and housing was broken, and the phenomenon began to appear in our country especially in the big cities.Social security housing residents are vulnerable groups in the city, and they rely on the housing provided by the government to meet their living needs. However, the profit-seeking mechanism of the market makes the security housing residents relocate passively to the periphery of the city.Under the single-center urban structure, insufficient employment opportunities are lacking in the periphery of the security housing residents, which makes the space dislocation between the employment area and the residential area before, and the separation of occupation and residence is thus produced. On the basis of comprehensive studies by other scholars, this paper takes the special group of residents of social security housing in Changsha as the research object. We utilized questionnaire survey to understand the current situation of the separation of occupation and housing in Changsha. And we put forward corresponding policy suggestions according to the current situation. The main research contents are as follows:First,by means of questionnaire survey and data analysis, this paper comprehensively judges the current situation of job-housing separation in Changsha City from the dimensions of commuting time, commuting mode, acceptable commuting time, commuting satisfaction, residence and job choice factors, and perception of the impact of job-housing separation. Then, this paper further study the differentiation of occupational separation caused by location, personal characteristics and oth er factors. Finally,In view of the general situation of occupational-residential separation and its consequences, this paper puts forward corresponding policy recommendations from two aspects of short-term improvement and long-term evasion,so as to better achieve occupational-residential balance.Through the study,it is found that there is a certain degree of job-housing separation among the residents of security housing in Changsha, but the degree of separation is not obvious, and it is still in a controllable state.Further analysis shows that location differences and individual social characteristics have an impact on occupational-residential segregation. From the residents' cognition and related research, the separation of occupation and residence will bring about the increase of personal economic costs, increase traffic congestion, and then lead to the widening of the gap between the rich and the poor, affecting social stability. In order to cope with this phenomenon,in the short term,we can start fro m three aspects: the living end,the middle end and the employment end, narrow the distance between work and living, and eliminate the obstacles to the balance of work and living. In the long run,we can avoid the separation of work and residence from the aspects of government performance appraisal, real estate market regulation and land use planning,so as to achieve the balance of work and residence.
