With the increasing competition in the Chinese telecom market,the telecommunications industry has gradually shifted from competition in telecommunications resources to competition in operational management capabilities.The importance of supply chain management has become increasingly prominent.In order to reduce the allocation of enterprise logistics resources,reduce its logistics operation costs,and enhance the core value of enterprises,the communication industry gradually began to outsource logistics management to professional third-party logistics enterprises.Inventory management is an important part of third-party logistics,involving business management and operations such as procurement,warehousing,inspection and distribution.The level of inventory management directly affects the operational efficiency of other parts of the customer.This paper analyzes the existing inventory management status of Z company and finds many problems,such as simple classification of materials,low accuracy of demand forecasting,lack of stock and sluggishness,lack of systematic inventory control strategy,etc.These problems lead to inventory.The amount is large,and the operating costs of the company are high and many other difficulties.In response to these problems,this paper firstly based on the quantitative classification method such as ABC,quantitative analysis of the amount of demand,demand consumption and frequency of demand for 4,126 kinds of operating materials,divided the operational materials into three types,and clarifies 151 kinds of materials that need to be managed.Then,according to the demand for materials,the demand forecast was made by using SPSS software.Finally,according to the supply classification of materials and the forecast results of demand,the safety stock settings of various materials were optimized,and the inventory management strategy of Z Company was improved.Through the optimization of Z company inventory management,a scientific and rational standardization operation process of material classification was formulated,which made Z company's logistics operation cost,G company's own inventory level and supplier's VMI inventory level have been reduced to different degrees.At the same time,the use of the above inventory management method can not only effectively improve the inventory management level of the supply chain,but also lay the foundation for further improving the overall optimization of the supply chain in the future.
