| Singapore is a highly urbanized country;large number of immigrants from 2003 to 2009 accelerated the development of construction industry.The tightening of policies has led to the decline of the construction industry since 2015,and the plumbing and drainage industry is facing severe challenges as the construction industry declines.However,with the support of the government’s policies,new opportunities have also emerged.In the coexistence of challenges and opportunities,companies must develop new competitive strategies to ensure their sustainable development.Company X is the world’s leading water solutions provider and the Singapore branch is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the international group.In the Singapore local market,different markets are divided into different sectors.The Building Services Department serves the construction industry.With the success of the previous strategy,it has transformed into a supplier of water solutions in building industry and has certain advantages in market competition.In the face of new opportunities and challenges,it is imperative to develop new strategies to ensure their competitive position as soon as possible.This paper analyzes the external environment and internal environment of X company Singapore branch’s building services department,to find out the opportunities and threats it faces,as well as its own advantages and disadvantages.Then use SWOT analysis model obtain four strategic combinations.And finally based on the above analysis,to choose the differentiation strategy and supplemented by defensive strategy,and gives suggestions on organizational structure,self-innovation and sales and marketing. |
