A Study On The Relative Importance Of Stakeholders In The Operations Of A Theme Park

With the rapid development of theme parks and their growing market in China,attention to the sustainable development of theme parks and the importance of theme park management are also increasing.This study is to research the importance of theme park's stakeholders from the perspective of stakeholder management.Theme park operators can be more effective on allocating limited resources and establish effective stakeholder management strategies by understanding and referring to the importance of the theme park stakeholders and other stakeholders.This article defines the concept of theme park and the stakeholders and ensure the theoretical basis of this research through review of the existing relevant literatures.It combines the methods of questionnaire survey and interview research to acquire empirical data and information for the study.The relative importance of the theme park stakeholders is indicated by the AHP method analyzing and testing consistency of the collected data as following: the government with 21.7%,customers with 20.3%,residence with 17%,managers with 14.8%,shareholders with 14.4% and general staffs with 11.8%.The results indicate that the governments are the most important stakeholders among the others for theme parks.Then,the author targets those theme park stakeholders as interviewees based on the results of the AHP method.The interview is going to be mainly two sections.The first is to inspect the core stakeholders' attributes and their final ranking of the relative importance.The second is to acquire demands and suggestions from stakeholders towards theme parks.At last,the author is going to provide certain suggestions to the management of theme parks in China from the perspective of stakeholders based on the results of the research,and additionally indicates the deficiencies of this research to define expandable contents for future follow-up studies.
