At the beginning of the 21 st century,China has entered an aging society. The rapid growth of the elderly population has increased the burden of old-age care, and China's aging population has the characteristics of "large numbers, rapid growth, and serious aging",especially in rural areas.Facing the declining family pension, community pension is difficult to achieve, institutional pension is difficult to accept, and there are constant empty nest nests where the elderly have died. After continuous exploration in various places,in 2010,Qiantun Village in Feixiang finally formed a village-based collective hospital-Volunteer living for the elderly,self-management-a "fat township model" in which the village collective and the children of the elderly jointly fund the operation.Since 2013,the Feixiang model has been promoted nationwide. However, the operation effect has not met the expectations.Problems such as fuzzy positioning, low occupancy rates, single service model, and single source of funds have been encountered, and development has encountered bottlenecks. The main reason is that lower-level governments acted in accordance with the directives and did not fully respect the wishes of the elderly, which led to low occupancy rates and poor old-age results,so it is urgent to optimize the existing model. The optimized rural mutual assistance for the elderly should be a way of supporting the elderly with active participation in the village collectively in accordance with the actual needs of the elderly while respecting the wishes of the elderly. This article takes the rural aging as the background, and conducts a literature review on the changes in rural elderly care methods, the origin and evolution of rural mutual assistance, and keywords such as contemporary mutual assistance services..By defining concepts, combining role theory and social support theory with the existing problems in the Feixiang model, constructing a model optimization model based on the willingness of the elderly to participate, forming a basis based on individual characteristics, family, behavioral cognition, and social support Research framework. The problem-status-analysis-countermeasure research structure was determined.Through empirical research, the following conclusions were obtained: First, most old people in rural areas currently have insufficient comprehensive understanding of mutual assistance and elderly care.To equate mutual assistance with elderly care in institutions, the elderly need to be changed It is already known;the second is the harmonious relationship between the elderly's family relations and the social integration of the elderly, which affects the elderly's participation in mutual assistance to a certain extent;the third is whether the rural elderly will participate in mutual assistance and support, which is related to social support, especially Government support plays a pivotal role in the operation of mutual assistance and pensions. The government should increase its support for rural mutual assistance and help solve the current rural pension problem. In light of the above conclusions and existing problems,we provide model optimization suggestions from four aspects: individual characteristics, behavioral cognition, family, and social support, with a view to helping more elderly people participate in mutual assistance and retirement.
