Research On Trade Facilitation Between Yunnan Province And Neighbouring Countries Under Multi-lateral Cooperation Mechanism

As the globalization of economic and trade progresses,the international division of labor continues to deepen in many fields and various levels,and multilateral cooperation mechanisms continue to develop.However,in recent years,from the global perspective,economic growth has faced multiple disturbances,such as the lack of endogenous growth momentum in many economies and the prevalence of trade protectionism.Trade barriers are not limited to tariffs and non-tariff barriers.An invisible obstacle "trade inefficiency" has become the main factor affecting trade between countries.Among them,trade facilitation is one of the important means of resolving trade inefficiency.Increasing the level of trade facilitation is conducive to improving the business environment of various countries building a higher level of the world economy and better promoting a win-win situation for the world economy inIn the context of a significant slowdown in world trade.China has worked hard to join and advance the multilateral cooperation mechanism,joined APEC,the Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Cooperation,formed the CAFTA and proposed the "Belt and Road" strategy.All these have enabled China to continuously improve the level of trade facilitation,which has not only boosted the steady growth of China's foreign trade,but constantly inject new vitality into the construction of an open world economy.Relying on unique geographical advantages,Yunnan Province in Southeast and South Asia played an significant role in opening markets,which has an major gateway on the "Belt and Road" strategic node.Yunnan Province is adjacent to Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam by land,which is an important open channel for inland provinces of China to connect Southeast Asia.At the same time,Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam have rich resources and factor endowments,they all have strong trade complementarities with Yunnan Province.Therefore,studying on trade facilitation between Yunnan Province and the three countries in Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam can effectively use the comparative advantages of countries in trade.To achieve mutual benefit and win-win results among countries.This paper firstly sorts out domestic and foreign scholars' research on trade facilitation and relevant trade theoretical basis,providing theoretical basis for the development of Yunnan province and surrounding countries.Secondly,it analyzes the current situation of trade facilitation between Yunnan Province and its neighboring countries,including the current situation of bilateral trade between Yunnan Province and Myanmar Laos Vietnam,the process of trade facilitation between Yunnan province and the three countries.Thirdly,according to Global Competitiveness Report,this paper measures the trade facilitation by four indicators: infrastructure,customs environment,regulatory environment and finance and e-commerce including 13 second indicators.The principal component analysis method was used to determine the weights of various indicators of trade facilitation,and finally the comprehensive value of trade facilitation was calculated,after that,the comprehensive evaluation system of trade facilitation among Yunnan province with Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam was established to obtain the level and ranking of trade facilitation between Yunnan province with three countries.Based on the trade gravity model,a model of the trade volume between Yunnan Province and neighboring countries was constructed,examine and analyze the impact of trade facilitation on the trade flows between Yunnan and the three countries,then take the first-level indicators into the model and analyze the impact of each indicator on the import and export trade of Yunnan.The study shows that:(1)The level of trade facilitation in China's Yunnan province is generally convenient,while that of Myanmar,Vietnam and Laos is not.(2)The domestic economic scale,GDP per capita and trade facilitation level of Yunnan Province,Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam have a significant and positive impact on multilateral trade,among which the trade facilitation level plays a more significant role in improving import and export trade than the other two;(3)The impact of each level of trade facilitation index on export trade is significantly positive,among which government regulation environment plays the most important role in promoting the level of trade facilitation in Yunnan province,Myanmar,Laos and Vietnam,followed by infrastructure,finance and e-commerce,and the last is customs environment.Finally,based on the above analysis,combined with the multi-bilateral cooperation mechanism,put forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve the level of trade facilitation between Yunnan Province and neighboring countries.
