Along with the instant development of world economy globalization and fierce marketing competition,electronic products demonstrate the characteristics of diversified customer demands,frequent update and short product life cycle.OEM manufacturing enterprises of electronic products that are generally influenced by order fluctuation,raw material price and labor cost,and have difficulty in periodic flexible management and technical innovation,are facing strong challenges from competitors in the industry.In this situation,if the OEM manufacturers of electronic products in the red sea want to continue having rapid growth and sustainable development,they must implement supply chain management to maintain strong competitiveness.And it is necessary and urgent.Inventory is the main reason to cause OEM manufacturers of electronic products trouble.Inventory management,as one of the most important links in supply chain management,can effectively improve the inventory turnover rate,capital utilization rate and customer flexible demand of products in terms of solving the inventory pressure of enterprises.Regarding of the above issues,based on the current supply chain inventory management of the manufacturing industry,this paper takes the tooling inventory of product A of F company as the research object,to elaborate the relevant theories and research methods of supply chain inventory management.By the analysis of the management organizational structure,operation status and relevant data and configurations that affect the tooling inventory of product A of F company,the paper adopts the hypothesis testing method to locate the problems and reasons of the tooling inventory management.In order to solve the problems of tooling inventory management,the VMI strategy is applied.This paper makes detailed elaboration of the VMI design target,principle,mode,information construction and the establishment of cooperation agreement,to improve the mode practicability,the information sharing,and the mutual trust among enterprises and the mutual trust among enterprises in the supply chain under the VMI strategy,in order to fundamentally solve the "stock trouble",to effectively target the purpose of closing the tooling inventory management issues,reduce the effect of “bullwhip effect”.In the end,by establishing team structure,performance evaluation system,and risk control solution to guarantee the planned effect after implementation of VMI,and based on the data collection and analysis after implementation of VMI strategy for tooling inventory management,the paper makes the conclusion that VMI strategy is effective to the tooling inventory management of product A for F company and also helpful for other manufacturing enterprises.
