With the sustainable development of national economy,as a basic industry to support social and economic development, logistics industry has also received the attention of governments at all levels and all sectors of society.Reasonable and sustainable development of logistics industry plays an important role in optimizing regional economic structure and enhancing regional economic strength. At present, governments at all levels have issued policies to build logistics infrastructure, optimize regional logistics layout and reduce logistics transportation costs. However, with the prosperity and development of logistics industry, the problem of unbalanced development also emerges.Appropriate unbalance is the driving force of regional logistics development, but too large difference is harmful to the stable and sustainable development of regional logistics,so the balanced development of regional logistics has become the current focus of attention. The regional logistics development level is an important index to measure the degree of regional logistics development.Understanding the level of regional logistics development and the differences of regional logistics development level clearly can help to provide more accurate positioning for the region, provide more clear and reasonable planning for the development of regional logistics, and thus promote the overall development of the region better.Based on this, this study chooses 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta as the research object.Based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on regional logistics development, firstly, the level of regional logistics development in the Yangtze River Delta from 2007 to 2016 are calculated by entropy weight method, and then the spatial difference of regional logistics development level in the Yangtze River Delta are measured through absolute difference evaluation method and relative difference evaluation method. The results show that the spatial differences of logistics development level in the Yangtze River Delta have been changing continuously in the past ten years, and the changes are complex. The change trend of Gini coefficient,Variation coefficient and Herfindahl index shows that the spatial difference of logistics development level in the Yangtze River Delta presents the situation of "expansion-reduction-expansion" in the ten years.Through the spatial decomposition of the Theil index,it concluded that the regional differences of logistics development level between cities are the main reason for the overall regional differences, but the contribution of the provincial differences to the overall differences is gradually increasing. From the spatial distribution, the Yangtze River Delta regional logistics development level showed significant agglomeration characteristics. The high value area showed the distribution of "Z" type with "Shanghai-Nanjing" and "Ningbo-Hangzhou" as the axes. The development level of regional logistics in the periphery of the axis was lagging, while the low value area was mainly concentrated in Anhui province. Finally,in order to understand the reasons that affect the level of logistics development in the Yangtze River Delta, eight factors are selected to regress by the spatial econometric model: the level of regional economic development, the role of the government, the level of urbanization, industrial structure, technology spillover, the degree of opening up,logistics demand and information development level. The results show that the level of regional economic development, industrial structure, logistics demand, government role, urbanization rate and information development level are the factors to promote the level of logistics development in the Yangtze River Delta.Among them, the level of economic development is the most important determinant factor of the level of logistics development in the Yangtze River Delta, and it is also the most powerful factor affecting its spatial differences. And technology spillover and opening have increased the spatial difference of the development level of logistics industry in the Yangtze River Delta.Combined with theoretical and empirical research, the study shows the cities in the Yangtze River Delta should take measures in line with local conditions, accurately locate the factors restricting the development of regional logistics accurately, and formulate logistics development plans that meet their own characteristics.Government departments should jointly formulate policies to promote coordinated development among different regions.Giving full play to the leading role of Shanghai and radiate the common development of the surrounding areas.
