Research On The Influence Of Enterprise External Knowledge Search Strategy On Radical Innovation

Radical innovation can bring about subversive changes in technology foundation and market pattern,and become an important driving force for enterprise innovation development.In the era of open knowledge economy,enterprises no longer have the advantage of independent research and development based on closed internal resources to realize innovation,and the basic role of knowledge is increasingly obvious.Adopting appropriate external knowledge search strategy to achieve radical innovation has become a research hotspot.However,existing scholars mainly analyze the direct effects of external knowledge search and radical innovation,and lack the exploration of intermediate mechanism.Based on the open innovation theory and knowledge-based theory,this study empirically analyzes the influence and mechanism of external knowledge search strategy on radical innovation.This leads to the three questions studied in this paper: What impact does the enterprise's external knowledge search strategy have on radical innovation? What kind of mechanism does knowledge integration play in the middle? How does organizational redundancy adjust the relationship between external knowledge search strategies and radical innovation?Through a systematic review of domestic and foreign literature,this article clarifies the concepts of external knowledge search strategy,knowledge integration,organizational redundancy and radical innovation,divides the external knowledge search strategy into two dimensions of exploitive and exploration,studies the influence of the two external knowledge search strategies on the formation of radical innovation,explores the mediating role of knowledge integration and the regulatory role of organizational redundancy,constructs the research model of this article and proposes corresponding assumptions.Based on the mature scale of relevant literature,we designed a questionnaire to investigate the enterprise staff who meet the requirements of the research object,and collected 284 valid questionnaires in the field of strategic emerging industries.SPSS22.0 and AMOS24.0 software were used to verify the relevant variables and data.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)both exploitive external knowledge search and exploratory external knowledge Search can have a positive impact on radical innovation;(2)knowledge integration plays an intermediary role in the formation of radical innovation promoted by external knowledge search strategy;(3)organizational redundancy plays a negative regulating role in the process of external knowledge search strategies promoting radical innovation.This research combed the theoretical path of "external knowledge search strategyknowledge integration-breakthrough innovation realization",explored the intermediate mechanism of external knowledge search strategy to radical innovation from the perspective of knowledge integration,and analyzed the moderating effect of organizational redundancy on the relationship between external knowledge search strategy and radical innovation.This study can supplement the open innovation theory and the knowledge-based theory,and at the same time,it can further deepen the relevant research on knowledge search and radical innovation,providing useful practical reference for enterprises in strategic emerging industries in China to implement appropriate external knowledge search strategies to carry out radical innovation.
