As an important part of infrastructure construction, transport infrastructure makes a big difference to economic growth.Transport infrastructure not only has obvious investment effects,it can directly trigger the demand of relevant production sectors, and then drive regional economic growth. It can also build an economic bridge in the inter-regional,so that production factors can flow between regions at a lower cost, then it can indirectly promote regional economic growth by improving inter-regional trade exchanges and driving the development of related industries such as tourism. In the past 40 years, transport infrastructure has been used as an important means to promote regional economic growth and coordinate the development between different regions, making great contributions to economic growth. However, since the global economic crisis, the economic situation facing our country has also undergone major changes. To explore the impact of transport infrastructure on regional economic growth under the new situation is of great significance in formulating infrastructure policies and regional development strategies.Based on existing research and theories, this article explores the general rules of regional economic growth affected by transport infrastructure, tests the effects of transport infrastructure on regional economic growth through empirical analysis, and examines the differences between areas in the contribution of transport infrastructure to economic growth. And further this article constructs a spatial econometric model to incorporate the spatial spillover effect into the study of the relationship between transport infrastructure and regional economic growth. The following threeconclusions are mainly drawn: Firstly,Chinese transport infrastructure construction has made great achievements since the reform and opening up,but the transport infrastructure endowment has a large gap between regions and generally shows a decreasing trend from east to west. The economic cluster is concentrated in the eastern coastal areas.Secondly,in general, transport infrastructure still plays a significant role in promoting regional economic growth, but this promotion has a degree of difference in the east?middle?and west, showing an increasing trend from east to west.Facilities promote economic growth in the western region more significantly than in the eastern region.Thirdly, regional economic and transport infrastructure level show significant spatial auto-correlation.Transport infrastructure has a significant spatial spillover effect on regional economic growth, the improvement of local transport infrastructure conditions will not only affect the local economy, but also affect foreign economic growth, and this impact is positive. Finally, suggestions are put forward based on the obtained conclusions.
