With China's economic development entering a new stage, the trend of international industry transfer is obvious, the learning effect of "learning by doing" is weakened, the added value of manufacturing products is low,the independent innovation ability of manufacturing industry is insufficient, and the production capacity is seriously surplus, all of which make China's manufacturing industry fall into the low-end production predicament. How to solve this dilemma is the primary task of the development of manufacturing industry. At present,in the context of global information technology, information technology has greatly changed the production mode and development mode of traditional industries, changed the innovation direction of traditional industries, and further affected the innovation direction of traditional industries. At the same time,as the second largest industry in China, the manufacturing industry is focused on the development of digital economy.New manufacturing models such as intelligent manufacturing and personal customization are emerging, and new manufacturing development models are emerging.Existing literature mainly focuses on the integration effects of information industry and manufacturing, and most of them are based on the data of a certain province or industry. There is no literature to study the data of all provinces in China, and further analyze the effect of intermediate media. The concept of industrial integration was actually proposed by the American scholar Rosenberg as early as 1963,but so far unified industrial integration theory has not been formed.Theoretically speaking, the integration of information industry and manufacturing industry may not only bring about resource integration, reduce the production cost of manufacturing enterprises and thereby improve manufacturing performance, but also may lead to the expansion of manufacturing enterprises and the withdrawal of weakly competitive enterprises, resulting in a monopoly effect And reduce manufacturing performance. Therefore, the research purpose of this article is whether the integration of information industry and manufacturing industry can inhibit or promote manufacturing performance, and further analyze the mechanism between them. This article conducts research from the following three aspects:In terms of data analysis, this article uses tables and histograms to show the development status of the manufacturing and information industries and the current integration of the two.It is found that the rapid development of the information industry and manufacturing has promoted the integration of the two industries in recent years. The direct consumption coefficient of the two major industries found that the degree of integration between the information industry and the manufacturing industry gradually increased from 2005 to 2012,which also shows that the degree of correlation between China's information industry and manufacturing industry has become closer and the degree of interdependence between the two industries has deepened. In terms of theoretical analysis,by drawing on the research ideas of Ciccone and holl(1996),this section establishes a theoretical model of manufacturing informatization and manufacturing performance, and finally obtains that manufacturing informatization will promote manufacturing development. Then, the second section of this chapter analyzes the theoretical mechanism of manufacturing informatization to promote the improvement of manufacturing performance through the institutional and technical levels. In terms of empirical analysis, this paper selects the provincial panel data of 29 provinces from 2006 to 2015(excluding Tibet,Qinghai and Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan regions).According to the results of the Hausman test, the model in this paper uses a random random effects model to test whether the integration of the information industry and the manufacturing industry will promote the improvement of manufacturing performance, and at the same time dig deeper into the influencing factors and transmission mechanism of this role,Finally,29 provinces and cities are divided into three regions of the East, the middle and the West according to their geographical location for sample analysis. The results show that:(1)the integration of information industry and manufacturing industry is conducive to promoting the improvement of manufacturing performance, that is,the integration of information industry and manufacturing industry has a positive effect on manufacturing performance.(2)The integration of information industry and manufacturing industry promotes the improvement of manufacturing performance by reducing the intermediate variable of manufacturing production cost, but during the sample period, the role of manufacturing innovation capacity is not significant.(3)In the sample period, production cost is a significant path.No matter in the East, the middle and the west, the promotion effect of the integration of information industry and manufacturing industry on the performance improvement of manufacturing industry is the intermediary effect of production cost. The path of innovation ability is not significant.Based on the research findings, the following suggestions are proposed for the government to improve the integration of information and manufacturing industry and related supporting policies in the future:(1)vigorously develop the information industry and the ?Internet plus? economy;(2)The unbalanced development of China's information industry leads to the regional difference in the level of manufacturing informatization;(3)Cultivate compound talents to meet the needs of industrial integration and development;(4)Accelerate the improvement of laws and systems related to manufacturing informatization.
