Research On The Remedy Effect Of Anti-dumping Measures

The rapid development of economic globalization has brought about the prosperity of international trade and has also intensified competition in the international trade market.Countries actively adopt trade remedy measures to protect their own industries,and antidumping measures have become a trade remedy generally recognized by countries around the world.As a major foreign trade province in Jiangsu,Jiangsu imported more than 200 billion US dollars for the first time in 2011,and then showed a steady growth trend.The impact of such a large import volume on Jiangsu’s local industry cannot be ignored.Therefore,in-depth study of Jiangsu’s foreign anti-dumping trade redemy effect is of great significance to the longterm development of Jiangsu’s domestic industry.At first,this paper selects 92 cases initiated or participated in the initiation of anti-dumping investigations in Jiangsu Province from 1997 to 2017 as the research object,and describes Jiangsu’s anti-dumping cases through six indicators: import trade,anti-dumping,the industry involved,the products involved,the country involved,and the characteristics of the case.status quo.Secondly,through the construction of dynamic panel data model,empirical analysis of the trade restrictions effect of Jiangsu’s anti-dumping and the introduction of nylon 6 slices.Finally,empirical analysis of the existence of anti-dumping trade diversion effects.The following conclusions were drawn: First,the source of imports is the first target country for Jiangsu’s antidumping.Second,Jiangsu’s anti-dumping has a strong trade restriction effect.The imposition of anti-dumping duties caused a significant drop in the amount of imports and imports,and the import prices rose to a certain extent,affecting imports for three years.Third,the anti-dumping measures have a certain protective effect on the development of the industry involved,and have exerted the trade remedy effect of anti-dumping measures.Fourth,Jiangsu’s anti-dumping has trade diversion effects,reminding us that we cannot ignore the impact of trade diversion effects on protecting the industries involved.On this basis,this paper proposes relevant suggestions for the government,industry associations and enterprises to play a better role in the external antidumping.First,for the government,it is necessary to improve the level of trade relief and establish a normalized trade relief mechanism.Second,for industry associations,industry associations need to give full play to coordinated management and bridges.Third,for enterprises,enterprises should improve their own competitiveness and positive cooperation.Hoping to help Jiangsu better use anti-dumping measures to protect the development of local industries.
