Study On Spatial Economic Relation Of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration

As Chinese economic society enters a “New Era”,city development method faces more complex challenges,and expediting urban agglomeration construction,which is a dominant trend of regional economy development,has become a social consensus.Urban agglomeration could achieve the size effect and the agglomeration effect that much huger than a single city by promoting resources flowing freely among cities,which rising the region development level and realizing the coordinated regional development.One of the key topics faced with the regional development is that how to optimize the allocation of resources among urban agglomeration by enhancing cities relation.Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration,the pathfinder of urban agglomeration construction in Chinese Midwest area,means a lot to reducing the development gap in the West and the East of China,finishing building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and stabilizing Chinese economic growth.Realizing the current situation and constraint about the spatial economic relaion of ChengduChongqing Urban Agglomeration is able to promote the development of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration more coordinate and efficient,which will be significant in developing Chinese Midwest urban agglomerations.The study,based on correlational research about the economic relation of urban agglomeration,shows the calculation and analysis on the economic relation strength of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration from the perspective of spatial relation.In the study,the classical gravity model is modified to emphasize the effect of resources interflow caused by currency and time cost,and the economic relating strength and direction of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration are calculated more precisely,which is also used to distinguish the economic hinterland of core cities.The results show that the integral economic relation is still loose.It also shows a single pole-radial pattern structure which takes Chengdu as the core and a multipolar-network pattern structure which takes Chongqing as the core.However,cities rarely interact crossing provinces,and core cities influence little in Northeast area of the urban agglomeration.The economic relation shows directivity feature,most of cities main relation is directed to core city,adjacent city,and regional central city.Based on the calculation and analysis about the spatial economic relaion situation,the constraint about the spatial economic relaion of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration is analyzed to strengthen areas of weakness.There are five main weakness areas—backward economic development level,unbalanced city scale structure system,inadequate industrial division and cooperation,lagging communication infrastructure construction,incoordinate and poor support of administrative system.At last,based on the quantitative calculation and the qualitative analysis,some countermeasures and suggestions are brought up to enhance cities spatial economic relation.
