Since trump took office, trade frictions between China and the us have been escalating and have had a major impact on bilateral trade.Based on the background of the china-us trade war in 2018,this paper selects the monthly hs-8 partition product data of customs from January 2017 to August 2019,and analyzes the impact of China's imposition of countermeasures on China's import trade with the United States through the double difference method. It is found that the total amount and quantity of goods imported from the United States are significantly inhibited by the imposition of countervailing tariff, but the effect on import price is not significant. From the perspective of trade mode, the impact of China's imposition of countervailing tariffs on general trade is greater than that on non-general trade. From the perspective of upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, the impact of the imposition of counteraction tariffs on non-intermediate products is greater than that on intermediate products. The study also found that the impact of the additional countervailing tariff on China's total imports was lower than that of imports to the United States, and the impact on China's total imports was no longer significant when the second tariff was imposed, which reflected the effect of China's import trade diversification measures.
