Based on the perspective of kinetic energy conversion,this paper according to the dual economic theory framework of Temple and Woessmann firstly attributes the dominant kinetic energy of economic growth to three effects: factor input,industrial structure upgrading and technological innovation.On the basis of this,this article using two time nodes of 2007 and 2017 will start from regions in different stages of economic development,and analyze the effect of factor input,industrial structure upgrading and technological innovation which are at different economic development stages and different periods in China and the heterogeneity of the dominant kinetic energy of economic growth by the spatial SDM models.The study found that:(1)from 2003 to 2017,there was a strong spatial correlation and a space spillover effect between the provinces and cities in China,but some factors did not play a positive role.(2)At present,China is about to enter a transitional period from efficiency-driven to innovation-driven transformation as a whole.Economic growth is still dominated by factor inputs which kinetic energy has not been converted,and it is still facing that technological achievements can be patented,but can not be commercialized with high efficiency.The problem of technological innovation with low efficiency and "structural deceleration" has begun to appear;(3)technological innovation has different effects on economic growth in regions at different stages of economic development.It is the smallest for regions in the efficiency-driven stage and the most important role in the innovation-driven stage;(4)The dominant kinetic energy of economic growth is constrained by the stage of economic development,and the dominant kinetic energy of economic growth is different between different regions in the stage of economic development,and the timely conversion of dominant kinetic energy has conducive to economic growth;(5)For the control variables,the existence of local protectionism and forces of regional market will weaken the effect of government intervention on economic growth;the effect of education level on economic growth is affected by the stage of economic development,and regions at different stages of economic development need different types of education system.It is very important for the improvement of information level to achieve the transformation of the innovation-driven stage.According to the conclusions,the policy implications of this article are: in order to play the driving effects of neighboring developed regions,we should reduce the obstacles which are related with spatial correlation of China's economic growth;it is as the main path to resolve "structural deceleration" to improve the capabilities of technological innovation;We should take different development models and choose corresponding leading kinetic energy in different stages.
