With the continuous development of economic globalization, the global industry has begun to upgrade and transform with it.This unstoppable competitive trend is not only seen between companies but also among employees.Along with the fierce competition, employees have changed jobs and found other ways, and workplace conflicts have become common problems in organizational life. This not only has a huge impact on the career development of employees but also causes enterprises to waste a lot of resources. One of the important reasons for this phenomenon is the poor political skills of employees."Political skills" was originally an academic term coined by Western scholar Pfeffer in his academic articles. He believes that employees use the necessary political skills to achieve impact control to achieve their goals. What personality traits possess high political skills? Empirical studies have shown that people with Gomakiviliism and core self-evaluation have a positive correlation with political skills. But the relationship that appears is not particularly strong.According to the theory of trait activation, only a moderate organizational atmosphere can promote better political skills. The connection between these three has inspired scholars to jointly explore political skills,Machiavellianism, core self-evaluation,and political atmosphere from the perspective of trait activation theory, which has become a new academic research direction.Based on literature research, this paper proposes a hypothesis that the personality traits with Machiavellianism and core self-evaluation can be easily activated in a political atmosphere. The core self-evaluation and Machiavelliism are used as independent variables, and political skills are used as dependent variables. The organizational political climate is used as a moderating variable to construct a model.Through investigation and research on new employees of Jiangxi Bank, empirical analysis is used to conduct hypothesis testing.Integrate the data through professional measurement and statistical tools, and carry out the test of demonstration hypothesis.According to the empirical research results in this paper,it is concluded that employees with core self-evaluation and Machiavellian characteristics are not directly related to political skills, but the interaction between the two and the organizational political atmosphere has a positive effect on political skills. The organizational political atmosphere perceived by employees plays a regulating role, and the degreeof perception will also vary depending on the level of organizational political atmosphere. The characteristics of employees in low organizational atmosphere are not significantly activated, and the organizational atmosphere is more sensitive to the organizational political atmosphere of employees. When high,it is easy to ignite the relationship between employee characteristics and political skills.Through this study,it revealed the process of how personality traits stimulate political skills, revealed the mechanism and conditions of personality traits, and created a new perspective for the study of political skills. From a practical point of view, the research results can increase the employees' emphasis on political skills, focus on the cultivation and improvement of their daily political skills, and can also promote managers to attach importance to the establishment of a positive organizational atmosphere and properly stimulate employees' political skills. At the same time, the research combined with the perspective of trait activation theory enriches the theoretical perspective of political skills and promotes the expansion of political skills research to more research paths and directions.
