Investment between China and the countries along the "Belt and Road" has been a focus of concern for the Chinese government in recent years. This paper uses an extended gravity model, fixed effects analysis and GMM model methods to empirically study the influencing factors of China's direct investment in countries along the "Belt and Road" from both full-sample and sub-sample levels. The results of the study found that China's investment in countries along the “Belt and Road” is time-sustainable and has a certain substitution effect with exports.Direct investment in countries along the route is also affected by the size of the host country's market, per capita income, resource endowments, technological endowments, and geographic distance.Further sub-sample research shows that the above influencing factors have different effects on different regions.Based on the empirical research results, this article finally puts forward relevant policy recommendations.
