Research On The Characteristics And Influencing Factors Of The City Innovation Network In Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area

This study relies on the data of cooperation patent in the State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO)to build up an innovative connection network of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area,analyzes network characteristics by using social network analysis methods,and constructs an innovative gravity network based on a gravity model to explore the correlation between the two networks,attempts to explore the characteristics and the influencing factors of the innovation connection network in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area.The main findings include:(1)The cooperation in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area are concentrated in enterprises,the cooperation of industry-academia is concentrated in Guangzhou universities,and most of the cities in the Bay Area are connected by manufacturing industries;(2)In recent years,urban innovation linkages within Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area became closely,but the overall network is unstable,and there is a tendency to be evolved into a small-world network;(3)The innovation connection network in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area has an obvious core-periphery structure,the key circle which consisting of five core cities--Guangzhou,Shenzhen,Zhongshan,Zhuhai and foshan is highly developed.The periphery cities tend to develop innovative cooperation relationship with core cities rather than with the other periphery cities.The phenomenon of two-level differentiation is increasingly prominent,and cities perform different in innovation cooperation.The innovation linkages within Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Foshan and Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Dongguan are stable;(4)The characteristics of the innovation linkage network and the innovation gravity network in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Area are similar.But the layer of the innovation gravity network is more obvious,and the two have a significant positive correlation,that is,the greater the innovation gravity power between two cities,the closer innovative connections they have;(5)Geographical proximity and cognitive proximity have no significant impact on the urban innovation network of this area,but the relationship embeddedness and structural embeddedness of social proximity have a significant impact.The development of economic and the original network status can provide support for innovative connections,and improve the ability to obtain resources,thereby promote innovation cooperation.
