Abstract/Summary:
Using a distribution system of direct current (DC) powered by renewable energy is possible supply many household loads that can operate interchangeably with alternate or direct current (AC/DC). However for motors loads inverters are required.;This project consists of the development and simulation of a single-phase boost-inverter, which receives an input voltage of 120 VDC and produces an AC output voltage of 120VRMS. This boost inverter is developed to work with an M type bridge consisting of four MOSFET transistors. A new switching technique was designed to achieve the same alternate high-voltage and direct current using only transistors of the full bridge. This technique eliminates the need of the preliminary stage of a boost converter; saving power components.;Comparisons with boost inverter of two-stage and inverter were made. The results show that the proposed solution is a good compromise between cost and harmonic distortion because it is potentially cheaper than a two-stage inverter and at the same time has less distortion of an inverter single stage (no boost).
