A newly designed universal wire connector driver called the "Wire Whippet" was designed to assist in the application of twist-on connectors for electrical splices. By using the "Wire Whippet", electricians should be able to create tighter and more consistent electrical connections, while reducing their risk of Repetitive Motion Injuries.; This study evaluates several common variations to the simple electrical splicing procedure, including experience level of the technician creating the connection, whether or not the wiring was pre-twisted prior to applying the twist-on connector, and whether or not the "Wire Whippet" was used to apply the twist-on connector, in an attempt to determine an optimal procedure for creating the tightest possible electrical splices.; The results of this study conclude that the use of the "Wire Whippet" does in fact provide superior connection strength in electrical splices. |
