This study examined the impact of social network site user characteristics on the user's privacy behaviors. It is hypothesized that attitudes toward online privacy (concern for privacy and the expectation of privacy), and online technical savvy affect online privacy-setting behaviors within the Facebook social network site. Survey responses from 116 college students are analyzed using logistic regression. Consistent with expectations, the results suggest that high concern for privacy, low expectations of privacy, and greater user technical savvy influence online privacy-setting behaviors. |
