The purpose of this study is meta-analysis of wellness mental health education in public schools comparing traditional education methods with virtual approaches. This study employs a thematic meta-analysis of peer-reviewed, scholarly data to identify prominent themes concerning mental health provision in schools. The meta-analysis identified similarities and differences in mental health education, in delivery methods as well as identifying opportunities in four thematic areas: programming outcomes, feasibility and outcomes, stigmas, and anger management. Based on this thematic meta-analysis, disseminating mental health education in middle schools has positive programming outcomes, is feasible, but does face significant structural obstacles and may perpetuate stigmas. Mental health programming in schools is correlated with increased student academic success. The thematic reviews described in this paper provides an opportunity for a pathway for other mental health curriculums to be disseminated in schools successfully, perhaps even virtually, resulting in holistic positive outcomes for the entire school community.
