In the past decade, China has seen enormous growth in its art market, as well as new developments in mobilized e-commerce and online communication. Rapid developments in the Internet and self-media have already brought China various brand new forms of online art businesses. For instance, galleries can hold art auctions and private sales via social media platforms, and also use WeChat Private Groupsia Chinese multifunctional social media platform with groups of up to 500 individualsjto reach out and serve targeted collectors. Consequently, an unprecedented growth in the online art trade has occurred in China. All of these new market trends and wealth distribution changes have led to remarkable developments in the current Chinese art market, which is worth in-depth research and analysis in order to discover new directions and potential of the art market.
