Abstract/Summary:
Disposing of construction and demolition debris in landfills consumes enormous amounts of space and is both economically and environmentally costly. The challenge has been to design in a smart way, so they produce a minimum of pollution, and cost to operate, while maximizing the comfort, health, and safety of the people who live and work in them.; The main objective of this thesis is to show the conditions and premises due to which the construction materials go to waste and to introduce viable alternatives in order to provide pollution prevention and waste minimization. The design project was developed to optimize the reduction of waste generated; the reuse of waste materials and recycling waste materials for other use. This provides innovative construction and demolition techniques, and waste management planning can yield large quantities of useful construction waste material for use in extended applications.
