Abstract/Summary:
For communities to manage their water resources sustainably, they must live within the renewable freshwater potential of an area. Water for Survival (WfS) fund and provide expertise to community water resource projects in developing countries. The development of a water resource sustainability assessment tool for WfS was the primary objective of this research effort.; The conception and evaluation of the Water Resource Sustainability Model (WRSM) is presented in this paper. The Mahurangi watershed in New Zealand was used as a case study to assess its effectiveness in assessing the sustainability of a watershed's water resources. This report presents the creation of a tool to facilitate sustainable water management.
