Abstract/Summary: | |
The purpose of this study was to test and present evidence assessing personality styles that contribute to understanding communication patterns in marriage relationships. This research was undertaken using a D-I-S-C personality profile assessment tool to determine the psychometric characteristics of ten married couples and their personality styles measured by four primary scales that describes and classifies people in terms of a set of concepts or constructs. This research was to determine if there was an apparent difference in communication within a marital relationship once couples were able to implement the D-I-S-C personality information. Results were conclusive, determining that communication improved in the participant's marriage once they understood how to attribute their spouse's communication behavior to a personality style. Additionally, the results of this study identified attributions through personality assessment that demonstrated a significant increase in marital communication. |
