Local Law Enforcement Implementation of National Anti-terrorism Policy

This study examines the role of local law enforcement officers in the implementation of national antiterrorism policy within the context of Lipsky's (1980) theory of street-level bureaucracy. Interview and survey responses are used to analyze the research question, how does local law enforcement implement this national security policy? The researcher finds that police officers provide valuable intelligence to this effort but that these officers are being underutilized.
