This quantitative study focused on the effects of native language instruction for Bilingual Learners. Several reading programs were analyzed for the purpose of associating their content with what the National Reading Panel found to be effective ways of developing literacy skills for BLs.;The research found about the advantages of native language instruction and its processes are included in this study as to provide sufficient data and facts to support the purpose of the study.;The data collected and analyzed did serve its purpose of shedding light onto the best practices for monolingual non-English speaking students, Bilingual Learners and about their literacy struggles.
