Abstract/Summary:
All organizations, public, private, and non-profit, experience challenges when dealing with their employees. No matter the economic circumstance, organization's are constantly in a state of recruiting and retaining employees. This cycle presents challenges which determine how they are regarded not only by their own employees but also among their competitors. By recognizing the obstacles they face and proactively tackling these issues, they will better prepare themselves for the future.;This thesis explores the need for recruitment and retention programs as well as factors that all sectors should consider when establishing and enhancing those programs. Organizations must see that by investing in their employees, they are soundly investing in the improvement of their long term performance. While initially the costs of implementing recruitment and retention programs may seem vast, this paper discusses how the benefits to such programs far outweigh the costs.
