Identifying factors contributing to user acceptance in Enterprise Resource Planning system implementations

The purpose of this paper is to identify factors that promote user acceptance in technological change caused by implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software technology. Specifically, this paper will analyze prior research to identify if known implementation success factors truly impact ERP software acceptance levels as derived from a system end-user. Organizations may learn to identify and minimize resistance factors so that user acceptance towards ERP implementations may be maximized, ultimately leading to a higher implementation success level. Secondly, this research will develop a measure instrument to validate and reaffirm postulated relationships set forth by this thesis. The measure instrument may be used to extract data from ERP end-users to identify user acceptance levels based on implementation success factors. The instrument may be used in future research to confirm the functional relationships of critical success factors at the correct level, end-users.
