This is a qualitative inquiry using storytelling circles to explore leadership culture, collaborative learning, deep listening, dialogue, and reflective practice. This research methodology is highly inclusive and transformative. Our storytelling circles created a space for union members to speak from the heart and their collective voices have the potential to inform the union. This learning community critically examined the social and cultural diversity within the British Columbia Nurses' Union (BCNU) and the effect diversity has on leadership capacity. The storytellers' emergent voices created a vibrant microcosm of learning, self-awareness, and community building. These connections are the seeds of growth required to nurture leadership and sustain a diverse organizational culture. |
