Abstract/Summary:
Traditional, non-conformal Head-Up Display (HUD) instrument symbology has been shown to enhance most aspects of pilot flight performance, relative to head-down panel instrumentation. This thesis tested possible explanations for a further improvement in path flight maintenance using conformal, scene-linked HUD instrument symbology. The better path flight maintenance is discussed with reference to domain fusion and task integration.
