Abstract/Summary:
In my experience as an instructor in British Columbia's post-secondary college system, the availability of technological solutions as an adjunct in the learning process is becoming both a more popular and a more prevalent part of course design. While most of the adoption is driven by the level of faculty comfort with a particular information and communication technology and emerging theories of adult learning, the translation of these approaches into enhanced student learning is dependent on student interaction with, and their use of the technologies offered.; As a result, my primary research question is: How do Business Administration students at Camosun College perceive that their learning is enhanced through the information and communication technology they use? Information and communication technology in this context refers to the use of computer-based learning technology. In addition, the research process will include exploring the following sub-questions as well: (1) What information and communication technologies are students choosing on their own and why do they choose these technologies? (2) What is the role of these information and communication technologies in enhancing or enabling students' learning? (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
