Information Technology is the hot research topic of the global basic education, as well as the key contents of educational informatization in every country. It's one of the important theory topics for the basic education reform in our country to digest and refer to some useful research outcomes of other countries. Britain is the earliest country that includes the Information Technology Education in its national curriculum, and also the first country in the world that integrates it into other subjects. By comparing with Information Technology Education in the elementary and middle schools in Britain, we can have a further understanding of the characteristics and problems of that in our country, which will enable a discussion to be held on the most suitable Information Technology course system subjected to the economic situation in our country. This research is using document-research method and comparative-research method to study and analyze the objectives, contents and individual cases of Information Technology between China and Britain, and to dig out the useful information that may get educators in China enlightened in the research of this field. By comparing and researching, we can realize more clearly and accurately the limitation of our Information Technology course construction. It will be good for us to face the experience of developed countries rationally, and minimize the mistakes as much as possible of simply following other countries and copying the existed experience. With the further comparative research on Information Technology in these two countries, we found that Britain has much experience which is worth referring to and taking into practice in different aspects: 1) As for integration of Information Technology and other courses, we should not only regard other subjects as the task situations of Information Technology learning, but also should guide the students to put the Information Technology which they have just learned into practical use, and transfer the knowledge to the learning of other subjects. Besides, during the whole process of integration, the construction of digital sources should be reinforced. 2) As for the objectives of the course, the general goal to improve the students' attainment in information should be made clear. During the course, students will be specially cultivated to develop in all aspects, especially the ability in problem solving, the ways of thoughts of criticizing and the spirit of automatically exploring. 3) As for the course contents, we should establish complete content system which is consistent with the learning stages of the students. Different course contents will be chosen in different areas according to the features of the districts. Besides, special ways of assessments should be developed based on the situation of our country.
