Abstract/Summary:
This study seeks to develop a model toward fostering authentic Christian maturity for Chinese youth. In our society today, this goal is severely hampered by increasingly complicated misunderstanding of God's Word and the need of his people. The approach is to integrate insights from sociological studies and truth of life from the Bible. Examples of life situations of this Chinese youth are illustrated and analyzed.; This thesis clarifies the meaning of faith and of maturity. Conformity or compliance is not maturity. Faith maturity is the ability to commit in God and carry out biblical mandates in the midst of difficulties. Adolescent faith matures in the sequence of (1) Dependent faith, (2) Reflective faith, (3) Integrated faith, and (4) Influential faith.
