Abstract/Summary:
The main goal of the performed research is the synthesis of gear tooth surfaces that provide a reduced level of transmission error and a favorable bearing contact. The contents of the thesis cover the following topics: (i) mathematical description of process of generation of gear tooth surfaces and derivation of surface equations; (ii) derivation of basic machine-tool settings; (iii) investigation of singularities of surfaces; (iv) computer aided simulation of meshing and contact of tooth surfaces.; The determination of basic machine-tool settings is based on the method of local synthesis of gear tooth surfaces that provides optimal conditions for their contact within the neighborhood of the mean contact point. The computer aided simulation of meshing and contact allows to investigate the influence of gear misalignment and errors of machine-tool settings on the gear transmission errors and bearing contact.
