With the development of era, modern national strategy has become the art of comprehensively using national strategic resources to achieve national strategic goals, covering political, economic, social and other fields. The national maritime strategy is no longer limited to maritime military forces and operations, but includes the maintenance of maritime sovereignty and the development of maritime economy and culture.Indonesia is a world-renowned archipelago country, whose territory spans from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, including more than 10,000 islands of different sizes, but also master the sea traffic arteries.Since ancient times, when people lived in the Indonesian islands, the sea served as a conduit, not a barrier, for communication between the islands, and a link for the people of the Indonesian archipelago to communicate and trade with each other. The maritime powers such as Madjapahit Kingdom and Sri Vij aya Kingdom once appeared on the Indonesian archipelago, and the maritime consciousness formed at that time thus laid a profound historical foundation for the formation of Indonesia's maritime strategies in the future. After the founding of the Republic of Indonesia, successive governments have issued relevant maritime policies. At first, they tried to make their status as an archipelago nation widely recognized by the international community and actively safeguarded their maritime sovereignty.Later, the development of maritime economy was gradually balanced. However,Indonesia's maritime awareness is still not as good as before, and the utilization rate of the sea is still not high.In order to restore Indonesia's former glory as a maritime power,Joko Widodo put forward the Global Maritime Fulcrum Strategy after taking office, which attracted international attention since its birth. But after Joko's re-election,maritime strategy has become relatively low-key.Due to the special geographic location and form of Indonesia, the relationship with it is within the strategic considerations of many countries. For China,Indonesia is not only an important southeast Asian neighbor, but also a key country on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.,and the two sides are highly complementary in maritime development.Since ancient times,Indonesia has conducted exchanges with China through sea.Coordination with China in the implementation of Indonesian maritime strategies after its founding reflects the achievements and challenges during the development of Indonesia's maritime strategy to some extent. If China and Indonesia want to achieve win-win maritime interests in their future development, they need to strengthen coordination and seek appropriate paths from politics, economy and culture.
