Calcium carbide is a gray solid,that can be changed to acetylene reacting in water.It is usually used as a source of acetylene in organic synthesis,to build a triple or double bond in the product.Calcium carbide can be applied for the preparation of two symmetric alkyne substituted compounds,asymmetric mono substituted alkyne compounds,poly acetylene and alkenes.Based on the summary of literatures,we want to find a method to achieve O-vinyl and N-vinyl from calcium carbide in academic perspectives.This theme includes three chapters:Chapter 1:Progress in the application of calcium carbide in organic synthesis.This chapter consists of the following sections:preparation of symmetric two alkyne substituted compounds,preparation of asymmetric mono substituted alkyne compounds,preparation of poly aryl alkynes,preparation of pyrrole,preparation of three triazole,producing six membered ring compounds,preparation of olefin compounds.Chapter 2:The research on O-vinyl of carboxylic acid with calcium carbide as acetylene sourcePossible mechanisms are proposed and verified respectively.Namely:nucleophilic addition mechanism,alkyne hydration dehydration and esterification mechanism.We analyzed the reason why benzoic acid was more difficult to realize O-vinyl than benzoic alcohol in terms of structure.Chapter 3:The research on N-vinyl of nitrogen heterocyclic ring with calcium carbide as acetylene sourceWe developed an efficient protocol for the preparation of N-vinyl organics from calcium carbide via an addition reaction using a basic catalytic system(KOH/DMSO).Compared to the traditional reaction,there are several advantages such as safe and easy-to-handle by using a 'solid' reagent as an acetylene source.Given that CaC2 is an abundant and economical C2H2 source,we are convinced that this protocol constitutes a sustainable method for the synthesis of N-vinyl organics.Therefore,this strategy would certainly be useful from academic perspectives.
