In recent years, with the continuous increase of imported iron ore and the development and utilization of domestic poor ore,the chemical composition and properties of iron ore have become unstable. The rational and efficienst ue of iron ore resources is of great significance for enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency.Chenggang uses vanadium-titanium magnetite as the main iron-smelting raw material for sintering. This project study on optimizing proportion for sintering based on the sintering fundamental characteristics of iron ore fines of vanadium-titanium magnetite. The research on the general characteristics of raw materials shows that vanadium-titanium magnetite powder belongs to high-iron,low-silicon and medium-titanium iron ore fines, with small average particle size, small specific surface area, and high difficulty in granulation.Ordinary iron ore powder has large fluctuations in chemical composition, high SiO2 content, high crystal water content, large specific surface area, and good granulation performance. The research on sintering fundamental characteristics of iron ore fines shows that the fundamental characteristics of vanadium-titanium magnetite fines have the characteristics of poor assimilation, low liquid-phase fluidity, high intensity of binding phase and high crystal strength. The sintering fundamental characteristicss of ordinary iron ore have the characteristics of good assimilation, high liquid-phase fluidity, low intensity of binding phase and low crystal strength. From the basic characteristics of sintering,vanadium-titanium magnetite and ordinary iron ore have complementary sintering fundamental characteristics.Sintering cup experiments show that when the vanadium-titanium magnetite powder ratio increases from 23.41%to 57.39%,the vertical sintering speed of sintered ore decreases, the firing rate increases, the yield decreases, and the sinter strength decreases. This is due to the reduction in the amount of liquid phase formation during sintering, the insufficient content of binder phase and the increase of CaTiO3.The optimizing proportion for sintering based on fundamental characteristics of iron ore fines show that under the high vanadium-titanium ore ratio, the yield and sinter strength have been significantly improved.when the ratio of ordinary iron ore fines BX and PB with low assimilation temperature and high liquid-liquidity increases. The analysis of the ore-bearing phase shows that the content of binder phase in the sinter is effectively increased for the CaTiO3 content is reduced. However, the vertical sintering rate is reduced due to the increase in liquid phase production. In the case of controlling the SiO2,V2O5,etc.content in the sinter, the basic scheme is optimized for ore blending.based on fundamental characteristics of iron ore fines. The sinter strength, vertical sintering speed, product ratio of sinter are all improved. The optimizing proportion for sintering based on fundamental characteristics of iron ore fines can effectively realize the optimization of ore matching on the vanadium-titanium magnetite sintering, which will bring beneficial effects to the enterprise in response to the current resource environment and cost reduction and efficiency increase.
