The double arc harmonic reducer has the advantages of high transmission accuracy,small volume,light weight,simple structure,high transmission efficiency,and is widely used in various fields such as robots,aerospace,medical equipment,radar devices,etc.Flexible wheel and rigid wheel are the key parts of harmonic drive,and their tooth profile machining accuracy has a significant impact on the transmission performance of the whole machine.The rigid wheel of double arc harmonic drive is internal gear,which is generally processed by gear shaping method in engineering.At present,there is no standard of double arc gear shaper in China,and its design method is not perfect,so precision machining of rigid gear tooth shape is still a technical problem in engineering,which limits the popularization and application of harmonic gear.Based on this,the paper studies the design method of the gear shaper cutter for the double arc harmonic reducer,discusses the influence of the design parameters of the gear shaper cutter on the tooth profile error and the meshing performance of the rigid and flexible wheels,and the research results can provide reference for the design of the gear shaper cutter for the double arc rigid wheels.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Based on the precise kinematic method and harmonic drive meshing theory,the basic parameters of flexible and rigid wheels and their solution methods are given.Based on the gear shaping model,the tooth profile equation of double circular arc gear shaper is derived,and the correctness of the tool is verified by envelope method.The calculation method and change rule of the design parameters of the cutter are studied,which provides support for the analysis of the influence of the design parameters of the shaper cutter on the tooth profile error and meshing performance.(2)Based on the model of gear shaping cutter for machining rigid wheel and the principle of gear shaping,the source of tooth profile error is analyzed in detail,the influence of design parameters of gear shaping cutter on tooth profile error is studied,and the influence of design parameters of gear shaping cutter on conjugate characteristics such as meshing backlash and meshing teeth number is discussed,the correctness of tooth profile error analysis is verified,which provides theoretical basis for the selection of design parameters of gear shaping cutter.(3)Based on the finite element method,the meshing characteristics of the gear shaper cutter with different front and rear angles are studied.The control variable method is used to compare the influence of different front angle and back angle on the transmission characteristics of harmonic gear,such as transmission stress,transmission error,load distribution between teeth,torsional stiffness,etc.,which provides a basis for the optimization of design parameters of gear shaper cutter.(4)Based on the solid model of gear shaper,the virtual simulation machining is carried out by using VERICUT simulation software,the simulation machining model of gear shaper is established,and the NC program is compiled;the gear shaper designed in this paper is used to simulate the tooth profile with different design parameters;the correctness of the design and theoretical calculation results of gear shaper is verified by comparing the simulation results with the theoretical calculation results.
