Research Of Design Innovative Application Of Knitted Plating Stitch

The plating stitch is one of the basic stitches of the weft knitting.Since the plating yarn and ground yarn participate in the weaving process and form the mutual covering relationship at the same time,the plating stitch has special properties different from other stitches with diverse colors and rich texture.At the same time,it can also have better wearability.The new ADF plating technology and “i-Plating” option released respectively by Germany's STOLL and Japan'SHIMA SEIKI,has further revolutionized the application of the plating stitch in the field of shaped knitting.Therefore,this paper takes the plating stitch as the specific research object,and deeply expounds the concept and the weaving principle of the plating stitch in order to understand the technology's current trends of the shaped knitting and knitted-fabric research.By this innovative study into the plating stitch's use condition of recent years,i am aiming to sum up its specific wearability and decorative properties,as well as to explain its key influence to the knitting technology's development.All in all,during the period of collecting and sorting out the huge amounts of research data and literature,i finally came to figure out plating stitch's innovative direction of today,by which i can appropriately apply the latest research results into my graduation design.
