Cutting fluid is an important supporting material in metal machining process,which is of great significance to metal cutting process.In water-based cutting fluid,emulsified cutting fluid is one of the most widely used metal processing fluids in China's machining industry because of its good cooling,lubricity,certain lubricity and rust resistance.this study aims to prepare an emulsion cutting fluid with low cost and excellent anti-rust,cooling,lubrication and cleaning properties to meet the growing market demand of cutting fluid.In this paper,an excellent water-based anti-rust additive was prepared by direct reaction of sebacic acid with triethanolamine.and the reactant yield was taken as the evaluation standard,and the reaction conditions were further optimized by orthogonal test.Its structure was identified by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,and its anti-rust ability in semi-synthetic cutting fluid was investigated by monolithic anti-rust test and electrochemical Tafel test.The experimental results show that the mass ratio of sebacic acid to triethanolamine is 1/2.5,the reaction temperature is 90?,and the reaction time is 50 min;the addition of ammonium sebacate antirust agent can obviously improve the antirust ability of emulsified cutting fluid,and the cutting fluid has the best antirust ability when its mass fraction is about 3.45%.Based on the original laboratory and the clarified waste oil after preliminary treatment,an emulsion cutting fluid with low price and good comprehensive performance was prepared with self-made ammonium sebacate antirust agent,emulsifier,extreme pressure additive,pH stabilizer and oil agent as the main additives.The amount of important additives in the formula of emulsion cutting fluid was determined by orthogonal test,and the results of orthogonal experiment were further optimized by single factor experiment to determine the optimum proportion of additives.The optimum dilution multiple used in self-made emulsion cutting fluid was determined by Tafel polarization curve test.The performance of self-made emulsion cutting fluid was tested and evaluated in combination with the test methods of SHT 0356-1992 emulsion industry standard and GB/T 6144-2010 cutting fluid national standard.The self-made emulsified cutting fluid was compared with some commercially available cutting fluids in terms of retardancy,lubricity,extreme pressure wear resistance and cost economy.The results showed that the optimum dosage of each additive in the formula of emulsified cutting fluid was 1.84%A,3.45%ammonium sebacate,4.6%sodium petroleum sulfonate,8%pH stabilizer,1.72%extreme pressure additive and 1.5%oily agent.The optimum dilution ratio of self-made emulsion cutting fluid is 20 times;all the properties of self-made emulsion cutting fluid are prepared in accordance with the relevant standards of the product;compared with some commercially available cutting fluids,self-made emulsion cutting fluid has better retardancy,lubricity and extreme pressure wear resistance,as well as lower cost,which has good environmental benefit and market application prospect.
