Establishing joint model by traditional means is relatively complex and requires repeated modeling. In order to meet the needs of modern design,a parametric 3D modeling system for the expandable casing joint is established, which can not only ensure the efficiency of joint design, but also ensure the design quality of joints. This paper takes the expandable casing joint as the object, through the parametric modeling method and UG secondary development, establish the parametric system of the expandable casing joint. This paper mainly studies the following aspects:1.Parametric modeling of expandable casing joint.According to the geometric model?mathematical model and UG expression complete the parametric modeling of expandable casing joint. In the modeling process, the full constraints of the sketch are realized through size constraints and position constraints, and use core parameters to drive the joint model.2.Secondary development of expansion casing joints.it is very tedious to change the parameters of parametric modeling, this paper relies on UG secondary development tool for secondary development, simplify the steps of parametric design.Compared with the development method compiled by Visual Studio,a simpler method is proposed, which greatly reduces the workload of secondary development.3.Virtual assembly of expandable casing joint.Based on the designed parameterized system, the virtual assembly of the expandable casing joints is completed in a down-up way,the rationality of the designed joint is tested, and a new method for calculating the makeup torque of the joint is proposed. In this paper, based on the existing design theory and Dimension-Driven method establish a parametric 3D modeling system of expandable casing joint, which provides convenience for the design and subsequent improvement of the joint.
