Quality management is an indispensable part in the operation and management of manufacturing enterprises.Continuous improvement of quality of manufacturing enterprises can,on the one hand,enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises,increase market share,and reduce the number of customer complaints.On the other hand,it can reduce the production cost of enterprises,reduce waste,improve the internal process of enterprises,and enhance the level of manufacturing modernization.As a leading manufacturer of high voltage switches in China,the rubber sealing rings for high voltage switches produced by P Company are faced with problems such as low pass rate of appearance inspection and substandard hardness.In this paper,P company rubber sealing ring products as the research object,through the implementation of the Six Sigma DMAIC process,the rubber sealing ring appearance defects and production hardness parameters were improved.According to the implementation steps of DMAIC process,fistly,the research problem was determined,the customer needs were identified,and the research scope was analyzed by SIPOC to determine the key process output variables such as defects,impurities,debris,sticky mold,and insufficient hardness.Then,the detection system is analyzed and improved through the analysis of the measurement system.The difference of production quality between the shift and the group is identified through the hypothesis test and targeted improvement is made.Causality diagram,causality matrix analysis and FMEA were used to analyze the root cause of appearance quality characteristics and put forward improvement measures.In the improvement stage,the Layout of reverse smelting workshop was improved through lean process program analysis,and the on-site cleanliness of production workshop was further controlled through the implementation of 6S.For the problem that the hardness of rubber sealing ring is not up to standard,the Taguchi method in robust parameter experimental design is used to find the curing temperature,curing time and curing agent dose that reach the target value of hardness.Finally,the project results are solidified through standardized documents.Empirical study shows that through the implementation of six sigma management,the quality level of the P company rubber seal production has been improved significantly,sigma level up to 3.9 from 4.3 before the improvement,and process capability index(Cpk hardness parameter by 0.3 to 1.54.It effectively improve the P company production quality and reduce the quality cost,which proved the effectiveness of the implementation of six sigma management in P company and importance,and provides a certain reference for other enterprises implementing six sigma management.
